I am interested in the topic: Liking and Loving: Interpersonal attraction and the development of relationships. Interpersonal attraction is a state of mutual affection, mutual need, and dependence between individuals and others. It is an affirmative form of interpersonal relationship. The subfield of social psychology could shed light into this aspect within developmental psychology. (American Psychological Association, 2014)

Psychological development often refers to the process of people's psychological evolution, for example, from strangeness to liking a person. Liking a person often includes these factors:

  • Proximity
  • Mere exposure
  • Similarity
  • Physical attractiveness.
But these factors do not really explain likes. (American Psychological Association, 2004)

Everyone has their own standards for the definition of likes, and the qualities of

likes are also different. But the person you like must have a personality that matches you, be it complementary or the same. Love cannot be controlled, and you may fall in love with someone you don't expect. (American Psychological Association, 2003)

First Memory

My first memory is probably when I was three years old, in my hometown where my grandparents lived. I remember that it was a dim afternoon. I remember very clearly that I watched TV in the room and watched my favorite cartoon, Cinderella. It didn't take long for me to feel a little hungry, so I went to the kitchen alone to find food.

At this time, my grandpa was working in the fields, and my grandma was washing clothes at home. Everyone thought I was watching TV in the room alone. After I found the cookies in the kitchen, I ate two cookies and fell asleep with them on the table. Grandpa and grandma went to the room to find me after finishing their work. They found that I was not there, and the two of them flushed anxiously. I was not found in the whole village, thinking I ran out alone and got lost.

Just when they were about to call the police, my grandma heard the sound of snoring in the kitchen, and she walked in and found that I was half asleep on the table after eating cookies.

This is one of my few memories before going to kindergarten. Although the memory is rather vague, it was terrifying at that time. They thought something happened, everyone was crying and laughing. I was just eating cookies.
