Reducing the Consequences of Prejudice and Discrimination

In the lower part of page 544 of "Understanding Psychology" by Robert Feldman, I saw familiar words at first glance.  The word "discrimination" is everywhere.  Recently in the United States, a black man was pushed to the ground by a white policeman for no reason.  The black man asked the police to let go, as he was going to die.  But the police did not respond.  In the end, his death and reports shocked the entire United States.  He was for once a popular star.  Everyone said that whites discriminated against blacks.  Then blacks and "allies" everywhere stood up against the government, against white supremacy.  (American Psychological Association, 2020)

The subject of "discrimination" I felt at a glance, it was too serious.  Not only blacks were discriminated against, but also blacks and others discriminated against Chinese.  The traditions and beliefs of different ethnic groups are different.  In this free country, this has also led to lots of people spreading the problem through violence, demonstrations, and the Internet to destroy people’s lives.  (American Psychological Association, 2012)

The connection between prejudice and discrimination: both are manifestations of negativity and negative behaviors directed at the target or victim of prejudice. Prejudice is psychological. Discrimination is action. From a social perspective, discrimination is an emotional reaction and behavior between different interest groups. (American Psychological Association, 2001 - 2020)

Discrimination generally consists of two interest groups: the discriminatory party and the discriminated party. Under normal circumstances, the discriminator is worried that the discriminated party will threaten or challenge its status, rights, interests, habits, culture, etc., and vilify, slander, isolate, or even harm the discriminated party in speech or behavior. (American Psychological Association, 2009)

First Memory

My first memory is when I was very young. My parents were very busy because of the summer vacation at school. They could only send me back to the country and let my grandparents take me. In the country, I was very bored, so I went to play with some friends I just met. I found a very interesting thing called "firecrackers".

When I played for the first time, they blew up the toilet lid in the backyard and spanked my grandmother. Another time was my last time, when I exploded my hand and my whole arm was all red, and I was crying with fear again. It left a very profound impact on me.

I think there is a great chance that some special place or a certain person can remind you of what happened in the beginning. "Firecrackers" are like "traumatic" in my heart.

According to the information I have collected now, the zhi area of the brain that is in charge of memory is mainly in the "Hippocampus" area. The main purpose is to activate it. The answer is to use information to stimulate the "Hippocampus area". Memory will rise to a new height.

In fact, the simple point is that information continuously stimulates the cerebral cortex, strengthens the connection between the nerves, and the cerebral cortex will also thicken.
